"One of the most interesting things about the TKO project was that we began with nothing," says Todd Kerns (Slash, Sin City Sinners, The Age Of Electric). "Only the idea of staring at a block of granite and slowly chipping away at it until the statue presented itself. Perhaps that’s a bit pretentious. We were hardly creating Michelangelo’s David. We were creating four-minute rock songs. Or whatever happened to present itself."

TKO is now available for pre-order via Pledge Music. One of the songs set to appear on TKO is called "All Systems Go", which Todd elabortes upon in his latest update; an excerpt follows:

"The song itself deals with Vancouver, Canada at that time in my life. It seemed that everyone I knew was in a band at that time. Men and women alike. Boys and girls I suppose. The girl outside the thrift store holding that Kinks record didn’t really exist but I suppose in many ways she did. We were all broke. Finding gems in a thrift store was the height of achievement back then.

The fact that she’s in a band seems only likely in those days. A Tuesday show at a club called the Brickyard which was just beyond the legendary junkie hangout, Pigeon Park, name checked in this song. The Brickyard was a club around back in those days. It didn’t actually ‘blow’. It was actually a cool spot in a sketchy part of town. There became less and less places to play in Vancouver. Not even sure where there is to play there these days. Bands seem to make it work.

I have made reference to helping load gear into a van which was also very common in those days to help one another out. Especially if you’re trying to impress girl in said band. Chivalry should never die."
