Unheard DIMEBAG DARRELL Track "Whiskey Road" Premiers Online

Guitar World has premiered a never-before-heard song from late Pantera/Damageplan guitarist, "Dimebag" Darell Abbott. "Whiskey Road" can be heard via the Soundcloud widget below.

Dimebag Darrell appears on vocals and all the instruments! Play along with the complete transcription, which can be found at this location (remember you can see the tabs full size by clicking on the full-page icon at the bottom right of the transcription preview window).

The bulk of the "Whiskey Road" transcription also can be found starting on Page 126 of the February 2015 issue of Guitar World. "Whiskey Road" was tracked in 2001, during the last outing of Pantera's Reinventing the Steel tour in the US.

The February 2015 issue of Guitar World, which will hit newsstands and readers' mailboxes this week, has been dubbed their Ultimate Dimebag Darrell Tribute Issue.

Among its exclusive Dime-themed offerings are:

• A private tour of the late guitarist's estate in Arlington, Texas, featuring his most cherished guitars and memorabilia

• The Guitar World guide to the 25 Greatest Pantera Songs of All Time

• An interview with metal producer Terry Date, who reflects on his days in the studio with Pantera

• An interview with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, who recalls how he nearly drank himself to death on the road with Pantera

• Plus a gallery of Dimebag Darrell art and tattoos from Guitar World readers, who continue to express their devotion to the late guitarist

The music business is filled with lots of contradictions: lots of highs and lots of lows, and Jerry Abbott has been down every road imaginable on his journey through it and lived to tell it all. His sons, Vinnie Paul "the Brick Wall" and Dimebag Darrell were the founding members of two of the world's greatest rock groups, Pantera and Damageplan. Jerry mentored them from day one and the story of their success is relayed in this book. As you turn its pages you will discover How to get a record deal, how Dimebag Darrell found his sound -- how Buck Owens came to record and to "play together again, again" and the ins and outs of Music City USA.

Music makes some people rich and leaves others destitute. Talent has nothing to do with it and yet it has everything to do with it. If you're in a new and restless rock band and want to get on with making your first million bucks, this book will open your eyes to a world you don't even suspect and would never imagine. In either case, Over My Left Shoulder: The Life And Times Of Jerry Abbott will teach you what you need to know and take you where you want to go.

Part autobiography, part music business guide, this book offers something for everyone from the Pantera fan to musicians paying their dues, making it a must read for everyone. With a forward by Marty Stuart, and stories that run the gambit of rock royalty to the top players in country music, Over My Left Shoulder transcends genres, decades, and paves the way for the next generation.
