Woman Suffering From PTSD Calls On OZZY OSBOURNE To Help Change Helmet Laws

A mother whose boyfriend died in a horror bike smash has called on rocker Ozzy Osbourne to back her campaign to ensure riders wear helmets, reports Mirror.co.uk.

Dad of one, David Smith, 37, died when the trike he was driving crashed into railings on April 2nd while Laura Simpson, who was on the back of the vehicle, suffered severe head injuries in the smash, in Braintree, Essex. The couple, who had met in February, were not wearing helmets when the crash occurred.

Now the 41-year-old mother-of-four, who is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), wants Black Sabbath legend Ozzy, 67, to help her change the law to make it a legal requirement to wear a helmet on trikes and quad bikes.

Ozzy Osbourne put his marriage woes to one side as he visited stricken patients at one of the UK’s top hospitals, reports The Mirror.

Osbourne met kids receiving treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and backed The Mirror’s bid to raise £3.65 million for the hospital’s Star Appeal, which will help build a pioneering Rare Disease Centre.

The singer said: “My son Louis was in Birmingham Children’s Hospital for quite a while as a child and the staff took such good care of him, something which I will always remember. “They do amazing work for kids and I’m really pleased to drop in and once again show my support for the Star Appeal – it’ll be a national center that will help families not only in my hometown, but also across the country.”

Osbourne recently returned to his native Birmingham to launch a new tram named after the veteran rocker. In their report on the event, The Daily Mail zeroed in on the fact Ozzy was wearing his wedding ring, signalling that things seeme to be back on track with Sharon, his wife of 33 years, after reports began circulating he was having an affair with hairstylist Michelle Pugh. Ozzy, whose solo hits include “Crazy Train” from 1980, unveiled the tram in front of a packed crowd on Corporation Street in the city centre. Workers in buildings overlooking the ceremony peered from windows to catch a glimpse of the Prince of Darkness, while fans chanted “Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy, Oi Oi Oi” over his speech.
