COUNT’S 77 - Count’s 77

Not only is Danny “Count” Koker a recognized television personality, as seen on Pawn Stars and Counting Cars, he’s a bona fide rock ‘n roller singing lead vocal in Count’s 77. Joining Koker in this good-time classic rock outfit are guitarists Stoney Curtis and John Zito, bassist Barry Barnes and drummer Paul DiSibio. The influence of KISS comes across loud and clear, most notably on “Lovin’ Like This”, “Stand Tall”, and “My Machine”. Suited perfectly for a barroom full of beer drinkers, Count’s 77 keep the party going well into the wee hours. Lyrically there’s a few rough edges that could be smoothed out, but the playing is flawless and full of feeling. Just listen to the soulful blues on display in “Save A Little Something For Me”. With 13 tracks spanning 70 minutes, there’s a lot of music on offer here, including two cover songs, featuring a pair of guest stars. Rick Derringer fires up his six-string for “Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo”, while Pat Travers plays lead guitar on his signature tune “Snortin’ Whiskey”. As we cruise into summer, Count’s 77 provide a shapely soundtrack – crank it up.
