In the new millennium heavy metal music has many subgenres, and many bands come from other parts of the world, especially the European countries. But the north east in America have many of our own who have been working hard to be successful. Mindmaze, out of Pennsylvania, have been releasing music since 2013 and their debut Mask Of Lies. Tonight’s show, August 31st at Roxy and Dukes Roadhouse, in Dunellen, NJ, the four piece (of brother and sister Jeff and Sarah Teets), played four from the reissued debut, and faithful covers of Black Sabbath’s “Wishing Well” and Savatage’s “Strange Wings”.
New Jersey’s Psychoprism have also been in the game since 2012 and released their debut Creation on Pure Steel Records, which they focused on tonight, plus a cover of Judas Priest’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin”. Both bands for fans of early Queensrÿche, Symphony X, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, and Nevermore.
