Cleveland thrash metal legends DESTRUCTOR have been forced to cancel their show in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, September 22 at Now That's Class due to illness. The band was scheduled to open the North American Nightmare 2009 Tour featuring Enforcer, CAULDRON and MANTIC RITUAL. The Cleveland tour date is the last show of the tour.

Destructor guitarist/vocalist Dave Overkill has been feeling ill for the past week and developed laryngitis. His condition has taken a turn for the worse and has not improved. "The last thing I wanted to do is pull out of this show", says Overkill. "I have been looking forward to seeing my friends in Enforcer again. We met them in Germany a couple of months ago at the Headbangers Open Air festival while Pat (Rabid) and I were performing for the Auburn Records 25th anniversary. After the festival we spent more time with the guys in Hamburg taking in a harbor cruise and club show. We all really enjoyed hanging out together. They are an incredible live band. Bill (Peters) from Auburn set the Cleveland show up for us as soon as we returned from Germany. We were excited about playing with Enforcer in our hometown. This would have been a very fun show for Destructor. Unfortunately I simply cannot sing. I have experienced trouble talking for a week and it has not improved. Please accept my most sincere apologies for this last minute cancellation. I was hoping I would get better and be able to pull it together but it's just not possible".

Replacing Destructor to fill the bill on short notice are veteran Cleveland metal band H.A.T.E.: "We're ready to pound some metal and help our brothers in Destructor out", says H.A.T.E. front man Greg Wagner. "We wish Dave a speedy recovery".

The band will be releasing a new album, Inject The Infection, on Auburn Records early next year. The album was recorded at guitarist Curran Murphy's (SHATTER MESSIAH, ex-NEVERMORE, ANNIHILATOR) Smiley Sound Studios in Akron, Ohio. Additional tracks were recently recorded at Noise Floor Studios in Cleveland, Ohio with engineer Mark Klein (BREAKER).

H.A.T.E. consist of: Greg Wagner (Breaker, Shatter Messiah) - vocals/guitar, Michael Miller (ex-Winters Bane) - guitar, Michael Harris - drums; Michael Gallagher - bass. Gallagher replaced Vincent Pileggi on bass a few weeks ago. This will be his first live performance with the band.
