According to Lars Brandle from Billboard.biz, PINK FLOYD is the latest heavyweight act to see their catalog released in the MP3 format by digital delivery firm 7digital.

At the end of September, 7digital will become the first U.K.-based online store to release the legendary prog-rock band's entire albums repertoire as DRM-free downloads.

London-based 7digital, which recently struck deals to release the Rolling Stones catalog and Beatle Ringo Starr's solo efforts, will launch the Pink Floyd albums with a limited-period price promotion.

Seminal sets such as Animals, Atom Heart Mother, and Dark Side Of The Moon, Relics and Wish You Were Here will initially be available to download at £5.49 ($11.14).

And works such as Echoes - The Best of Pink Floyd, Is There Anybody Out There?: The Wall Live 1980-81, Pulse, and The Wall will initially be offered at £6.99 ($14.18).

In addition, 7digital will be the first to offer as MP3s in Britain the digitally-remastered re-release of debut album, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.

EMI reissued the album August 27 in Europe by EMI and September 3 in the United States. A deluxe three-CD edition contains stereo and mono mixes, plus other rare and unreleased material from the era. Packaging for the set has been designed by longtime Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson.
