With 60 bands, each playing twice, over four days, there are similarities to the land based behemoth to which we've ventured for the last 15 years, in Northern Deutschland. Beyond the endless parade of bands, there's multiple stages and a ton of Germans. However, the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise - which sailed Thursday, January 22nd on board the Royal Caribbean Liberty Of The Seas from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and rerturned on Monday, January 26th - is much cleaner (no camping, although I'm sure plenty would set up a tent on the topside deck, if permitted), as everyone's afforded the opportunity for a daily shower (if not pool/spa visit) and people actually use the restrooms. Sensory overload! So once the fog clears, expect to see extensive, day-by-day coverage. Until then, here's a visual sampling of what happened.
