Carolina Rebellin 2017 – DEF LEPPARD, SOUNDGARDEN, MASTODON, Rock Record-Breaking Crowd!
June 27, 2017, 7 years ago
It was a record breaking crowd of 105,000+ fans for the 7th Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion festival on May 5th-7th. Four stages with over 60 acts that included unfortunately one of the last performances of Chris Cornell with Soundgarden, Def Leppard, Avenged Sevenfold, Offspring, Korn, A Perfect Circle and many more, the music for the weekend was great. The weekend started off cold, wet and muddy but by the third day we had sun and warm weather.
With seas of people, cars, campers and tents the fans came in. Some new to Carolina Rebellion and some that have been all 7 years. It’s amazing to see the older rock fans that are there to see Tesla and Def Leppard stop in their tracks to check out bands like Mastodon, Gojira and In Flames and watch their jaws just drop to the ground. Same goes for the kids in the crowd when they see bands like Soundgarden and Offspring and get to finally realize where that inspiration comes from with the new bands they love and enjoy. Overall, it’s a great mixture of music, new and old, and that’s why everyone returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway every year for the Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion.
Until next year!
