What a way to end a whirlwind weekend: a set of Celtic Frost classics, in the dark of night, delivered by the man himself: Tom G. Warrior! Top-to-bottom, a great day in the scalding Houston sun.

Riot City proved the blazing insanity of their recorded works can be replicated live. Odd seeing Unto Others is the sunshine, but the tunes rule, regardless of environs. Tower showed the south what it takes to make it in the Big Apple, fierce intensity, delivered with punky speed and attitude. Skull Fist had so many crowd surfers, frontman Zach Slaughter had to get into the act, eventually taking a ride on the audience. Satan mainstay Brian Ross doesn't share that affinity (actually voiced downright disdain) for barricade interlopers.

Haunt, one of the bands who have played Hell's Heroes each year, had a great turnout. Razor's pit action was legendary. Security out manned, some switched teams and started headbanging! On tour, with a new drummer, Night Demon debuted two Outsider cuts (including the title cut) to a furious response. A full report will be online soon.
