METAL ALLEGIANCE Pays Tribute To Our Fallen Heroes At Anaheim Event

Last night (January 20th), Metal Allegiance gathering at the City National Grove of Anaheim on January 20th for a monumental tribute to metal's fallen heroes. It marked the first time in a year that the core four, David Ellefson, Alex Skolnick, Mark Menghi, and Mike Portnoy have played together. The night also featured: Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath), Richie Faulkner (Judas Priest), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains), Mikkey Dee (Motörhead, Scorpions), Eddie Hermida (Suicide Silence), Arejay Hale (Halestorm) and Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies) who will join Chris Jericho (Fozzy), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus), Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Chuck Billy (Testament), and Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs). The night commenced with opening sets from Marty Friedman and Gus G.
Prior to playing the Metallic classic “Disposable Heroes”, they brought out Cliff Burton's dad, Ray, and Mark Menghi described how much Cliff meant to him and how he was the reason for all of this (Metal Allegiance) coming together. Ray also brought Cliff's bass for him to play.
