On August 16th, The Dead Daisies brought their brand of Zeppelin meets Aerosmith meets Whitesnake to Asbury Park, NJ.  As retro as it may sound, in 2017 it’s a fresh take on the foundation of hard rock from such seasoned players.  And the result - a new lease on life for classic rock.  The Dead Daisies feature guitarist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream) on vocals, David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink) on rhythm guitars, bassist Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, etc) on drums.  Aldrich’s riffs and smoking leads are supported by Lowy holding down the rhythm, while Corabi is clearly the son of Steven Tyler. Mendoza brings on a smooth, sometimes soulful bottom end and backing vocals, and Tichy is solid throughput but brings on his skills during his solo.

Currently on the road in support of their 2016 album Make Some Noise, and recent live album Live & Louder – which they played tonight includes ten originals, covers by The Beatles (“Helter Skelter”), “We’re An American Band” (Grand Funk Railroad), and “Fortunate Son” from Creedence Clearwater Revival.
