2010 Calendar For Cancer: Long Haired Men Features Toronto Musicians And Supports Cancer Research

Photos By Sevrina has announced that the 2010 Calendar for Cancer: Long Haired Men is now available, just in time for the holidays as we celebrate the blessings of good health, hope for those who may be suffering and honour the memories of loved ones who have passed away.
Sevrina Fernandes, a Toronto photographer, conceived the project as a way as a tribute to her dear friend Chris Sadowski, a well-known and follically-blessed Torontonian who died of bone cancer in 2008 at the age of 35.
Toronto jazz trumpet icon Nick "Brownman" Ali is among one of 12 long-haired Toronto men featured in the calendar. Other artists who generously donated their time include Bradd Searl and Kevin Gale; the lead singer and guitarist, respectively, of the fast-rising Toronto rock band PUNISHMENT.
"It was an incredible coincidence that I was asked to participate in the calendar less than a month after my dad was diagnosed with cancer. In fact, he had surgery a couple of days before I did the photo shoot," says Brownman, who recently returned from a European tour swing with legendary rapper Guru and his Jazzmatazz ensemble. "I am honoured to be in these pages, and hope that people in Toronto and beyond will support such a worthy cause."The calendar has had a loyal following all over the world on Facebook since the project was announced in the spring. In addition to Canada, interest has been particularly strong in the UK and Scandinavia.

Single copies are $15.00, with 3-packs available for $35.00. Proceeds from sales go to support cancer research.
