AEROSMITH is postponing its Winnipeg show after frontman Steve Tyler fell from a stage in Sturgis, S.D., on Wednesday.

The rest of the band’s western Canadian tour is still a go - including August 11 at Commonwealth - says a publicist for the tour.

Tyler was dancing to Love In An Elevator when he went down. He was then airlifted to hospital with minor neck and head injuries, according to the Associated Press.

“He was good-natured about it,” Mike Sanborn, the concert’s promoter, told AP. “He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician.

“He does a lot of dancing on the stage and he does a lot of stuff with his mike stand. He put his stand down and twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage.”

Aerosmith was supposed to perform tonight in Winnipeg. “However, after further medical attention, Aerosmith’s management has informed us that the show will need to be postponed.”

Tyler’s tumble is the latest in a tour plagued with injuries and surgeries — including guitarist Brad Whitford’s noggin bump and bassist Tom Hamilton’s non-invasive surgery.

In early July, Tyler also pulled one of his leg muscles, and Aerosmith was forced to cancel several gigs.
