AGAINST THE PLAGUES and VEX singer Orlando Logan Perez will be entering the studio today to record Vex’s full length-album, Thanatopsis.

Here is what Orlando had to say: "I’m very excited and have been undergoing different levels of positive anxiety for this upcoming session. It’s kind of like the same feeling that I had when I took my last final exam in college knowing that victory would be inevitable regardless of my performance.

So yes, I am confident that the sessions will go smoothly.

I haven’t done a great deal of vocal preparation for this simply because I feel that a subtle rawness added to the general atmosphere of the music itself, would be interesting; and also so it doesn’t sound too predictable and manufactured.

I want our live performances to be as close to recording as much as possible - my only challenge is trying to figure out the vocal layers and harmonizing that I have planned for the recording and how to present them live - but I know that Bill also has some things up his sleeve.

I think some of the best things that I’ve come up with have been birthed in the studio so I definitely want to play around with that idea. After this, I think Ciaran will add some extra guitar parts and there will be some additional leads as well. Then it will be mixed and everything should be ready in a couple of months.

Meanwhile, I will be doing some shows with Against The Plagues, nothing confirmed, but we plan to revisit some places and will be going to new places for fans who have been wanting to see us. Again, nothing confirmed and you didn’t hear this from me!

I also wanted to point out that I am working with Aethena Records and they will be opening the ‘corporate’ office pretty soon.

Lastly, I also wanted to say that I am sitting here, still in awe, from watching Maiden’s performance the other day in San Antonio. It seems that they always top themselves, and next to Live After Death, I feel it was their best performance, yet. I was almost in tears when witnessed the performance of 'Moonchild' live! Indeed, it was as if I was in the presence of gods, and as a faithless man of science and literature, I can’t help but feel blessed since Maiden is the closest thing to having a religion. So go see them; this, I command!”
