ALICE COOPER - "The ALICE COOPER GROUP Actually Changed The Way People Looked When They Walked Down The Street"
November 26, 2008, 15 years ago
Rock legend ALICE COOPER spoke to Russell Hall from Independentmail.com recently about a number of topics including recalling the glory days of the original ALICE COOPER GROUP. A few excerpts from the chat follow:
Russell Hall: Were some Alice Cooper albums more fun to make than others?
Alice Cooper: "Yes, but some were really hard, too. Love It To Death was a very hard album to make. One of the fun records was From The Inside, which also ended up being one of my favorite musical albums. And Alice Cooper Goes To Hell was fun to make, because everybody was having a great time with the idea of Alice trying to talk his way out of Hell. Welcome to My Nightmare was fun, too."
RH: Some people say the original group could have gone on to be the American equivalent of the Rolling Stones.
AC: "Well, we were a part of American history. The Alice Cooper Group actually changed the way people looked when they walked down the street. We had a big impact on the entire culture. It wasn’t just the music, although the music has stood up well over all these years. I think we were at the apex of a movement. For us, it was just a matter of having fun."
