According to Fontanaheraldnews.com, The Bob Hope Classic hosted by Arnold Palmer will be celebrating its 50th year this coming week, giving fans a chance to see many celebrities while raising funds for various charities.

The event, held at four courses in the Coachella Valley, runs January 19-25.

Celebrity participants in the Bob Hope Classic, a desert tradition since 1960, include former National Football League and Major League Baseball star Bo Jackson; 13-time Pro Bowler and all-time NFL scorer Jerry Rice; Tampa Bay Rays third baseman and 2008 American League Rookie of the Year Evan Longoria; Olympic skier Toby Dawson; musicians HUEY LEWIS, STEPHEN STILLS, MICHAEL BOLTON, ALICE COOPER, DON FELDER, JOSH KELLEY, and CLAY WALKER; and actors Kurt Russell, Chris O'Donnell, Thomas Gibson, Oliver Hudson, Jeffrey Donovan, William Devane, Joel Gretsch and Bruce McGill.

Palmer played in the tournament 42 of its 50 years and is the only five-time champion. He won a total of 62 PGA tour titles, his last coming at the Hope.

In 49 years, the tournament has donated nearly $47 million to charities in the Coachella Valley.
