Los Angeles-based ANA KEFR frontman / founder Rhiis D. Lopez has checked in with the following update:

"Dear Friends and Infidels,

Well, as surreal as it may seem, it has been exactly one year since we left the recording studio after creating our self-produced debut album, Volume 1. One year ago today, we had no idea of what was to come, yet now we look back on it all with a sense of gratitude perhaps mixed with a little dose of surprise. In honor of this milestone in the lifeline of Ana Kefr, we would like to share a few things with you! First and foremost, we are the featured band of each January issue of the LA Weekly!

Secondly, Volume 1 was named one of the best albums of 2009 by Carl Begai of Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles. Thanks a million, Carl! Check out the Brave Picks e-book here.

Third, the Press Enterprise listed Volume 1 as one of the best albums of 2009. A small clip from the issue is availabel on the left (click to enlarge).

Last, but certainly not least, I (Rhiis) was looking through some of the footage we took while we were in the studio. Some of it gave me good laughs, other stuff just made me reminisce on how great it was to be putting the album together. I created a short video comprised of video clips previously unseen from our Volume 1 recording sessions. I hope you enjoy this video, and I hope to see you in the pit at the Whisky A Go-Go show on January 24th!"
