ANATHEMA will perform this Saturday, September 22nd, in Bulgaria, Plovdiv at Roman Ampitheater. The show will be filmed for an upcoming blu-ray release.

According to a press release: This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Bulgarian fans and indeed fans around the world to be part of Anathema's Bluray recording on Saturday. As you may know, on September 22nd the ancient Roman Ampitheater in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) will host a truly special concert. The ruins of this spectacular building will provide a magical backdrop when Anathema take to the stage to perform their show alongside the string players of the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra. After weeks of speculation we can now reveal that this unique concert will be recorded live and released on blu-ray in 2013 by Kscope.

Speaking about the show, Daniel Cavanagh says that, "recording a definitive Anathema DVD in Bulgaria, among some of the best fans in the world, has been on our agenda for some years. The fact that it's in this amazing location with an orchestral performance is surely a recipe for something special."

Anathema's new video, for ‘Untouchable (Part One)’, the opening track from the band's Weather Systems album, is now online. The video, which reflects the themes created in the album, was edited together by Lasse Hoile, the acclaimed director and filmmaker, best known for his work with Steven Wilson and PORCUPINE TREE.
