No, that's not a typo: Anvil! The Story Of ANVIL surpassed Hannah Montana per-screen this past weekend, which was opening weekend for both films.
The US debut of Sacha Gervasi’s Anvil! The Story of Anvil, was the top Easter weekend newcomer at the specialty box office with a better per screen theater average ($11,600) than Hannah Montana or any film that opened this past weekend.
The film grossed $34,800 from 3 screens this weekend. The Abramorama release is being heavily supported by VH1 on all platforms and highlighting that is the band's US tour, VH1 Classic Presents: The Anvil Experience in which the film is played at each tour stop followed by a short performance by the band.
All promotional efforts by the network will lead up to its premiere this summer on VH1.
