hot flashes news

Arctic Music Group (AMG), and its imprint labels, Arctic Music, Frozen North Records, and Punktuation!, are up and running after an agreement between its current owner and new management has been finalized. A new company, Arctic Media, has also been formed to release merchandise and visual media associated with bands on the roster.

The Florida-based Arctic Music Group was first opened in 2000 as an extreme metal label with a main focus on death and black metal. The first signings for the label were MALEVOLENT CREATION, KULT OV AZAZEL and HATEPLOW. Over the years the label has expanded its focus and has included rock, punk, doom, electronica, industrial, power metal, and classic heavy metal releases via its sub-labels Arctic Music, Frozen North Records, and Punktuation! Records.

Current roster artists include VEIN COLLECTOR, Kult Ov Azazel, HOD, PTAHIL, and the most recent signing, iconic electro/rock/industrial act THE ELECTRIC HELLFIRE CLUB. New releases have already been scheduled into summer of 2014. AMG will continue to work with distributor MVD, which will ensure its product will be available in all formats worldwide, both physical and digital. An emphasis on vinyl and other formats aside from standard CD and digital download will also be

prominent in AMG’s release catalog.

Arctic Music Group’s new management is comprised of stalwart musicians who have themselves been significant contributors to the industry, and a renewed attitude of “a label run by musicians for musicians” will hopefully set AMG apart from the classic stereotype of record labels as money-hungry corporate shills who care nothing about music except for the amount of money that can be made off the artistic lifeblood of their acts. Integrity and honor is the new creed at AMG, and any artist working with the labels will benefit from this uncommon attitude.

AMG is currently accepting and reviewing submissions from artists looking to release their music, and will also consider licensing existing releases from artists whose current contract terms have expired.
