MICHAEL MONROE's guitarist Ginger (WILDHEARTS frontman) played his last gig with the band at Provinssirock on June 17th. He has been replaced by BACKYARD BABIES guitarist Dregen (pictured at left), according to Classic Rock.

Monroe previously stated: "First gig with the new lineup will take place at Kalasatama, Helsinki on June 26th, where the MM band will be supporting FOO FIGHTERS."

After the band's first rehearsal with Dregen, guitarist Steve Conte stated: "Wow, we’re really happy about this…The new guitarist is a wonderful guy and natural player with great energy onstage and off. Replacing a band member is never easy – especially one who was so instrumental in the writing, playing, singing and recording of an album – but we’re all pleasantly surprised at what an easy transition this will be."

Michael Monroe released the new album, Sensory Overdrive, on March 16th and the band has been on tour in Finland and around the globe ever since the release date. This lineup change won’t affect any forthcoming gigs.

Monroe celebrated his 49th birthday at Provinssirock, one of the biggest rock festivals in Finland which takes place in the city of Seinäjoki in Southern Ostrobothnia. The show marked the final gig with guitarist Ginger.
