BON JOVI’s David Bryan Comments On Memphis Win At The Creative Arts Emmy Awards

BON JOVI Keyboardist David Bryan, who wrote the music and lyrics for the musical Memphis, has released the following statement regarding The Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony which took place on September 15th. Memphis took home the award for Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Miniseries, Movie or Special:
“The unbelievable journey of Memphis The Musical continues! I'm very proud of this award and grateful to all the fans for supporting my work. Memphis will open on the West End in London next year and we just signed a deal to make Memphis the motion picture!! And my new show Chasing The Song is in development and coming to Broadway in 2014. Thanks again.”The broadcast of the awards is set to air next Saturday, September 22nd, on ReelzChannel.
According to the musical’s Facebook page the synopsis is as follows: “. Inspired by actual events, Memphis is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break.”
