POISON frontman Bret Michaels has issued the following New Year message via the Hallmark Channel's Celebrity Good Life page. It appears below in its entirety.

"This time of year is my favorite time for many reasons. There is good spirit in the air, football is hitting the playoff times and most importantly, I get to spend quality time with my family. It makes the long hours of touring and craziness throughout the rest of the year all worthwhile.

I think what is most important in the new year is to really find it in our souls to dig in deeper and help those in need, especially in our very own country.

As a lifelong diabetic I realize that life throws us some highs and lows, but it is important to give what you can when you can, especially during these holiday times.

And let us not forget the men and women who serve in the military who give us the freedom we enjoy every day and try to throw them a little extra cheer this season and throughout the New Year.

To my family, friends and fans, I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to live out my rock and roll dreams for the last 20 years, and I will see you all on March 14 on NBC. Wish me luck as I attempt to raise a lot of money for a charity close to my heart. There is some fierce competition but it’s going to be fun."

Love and Respect,

Bret Michaels
