Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records - the first label to abandon physical releases in favour of a full 'pay-what-you-want' download model - have announced the debut release from Halifax, Nova Scotia's grindcore powerhouse BURNT CHURCH.

The 10-song release is now available, complete with a printable sleeve for as much or as little as each visitor chooses and is even being offered for free to those without a paypal account, an option Label Founder Rayny Forster claims is necessary to gain the fan's respect in times when illegal downloading is the only alternative fans have to paying high prices.

Moshpit Tragedy began in 2006,and one year later launched its 'sliding-scale' concept, in which visitors can pay what they want, starting at nothing, for full official album downloads, complete with print-ready sleeve art. The label has since been joined by the ranks of EXTREME NOISE TERROR, PHOBIA, MISERY, SKARP, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION, AMEBIX and over 50 others.

Burnt Church is a metallic grindcore band from Canada's east coast made up of guitarist/vocalist Mike Parks and blast-beat extraordinaire Gerald Smith. Both have spent time in many bands including EXISTENCH, SLOTH, PRISONERS, REAGUNOMICS, THEY FLESH CONSUMED, ON THE BLOOD OF OTHER, GORBAGE, and BENEATH THE LIES.
