Erik Turner of WARRANT spoke to BraveWords.com correspondent Deb Rao regarding the 2008 Metal Year In Review. He also reveals the band's setlist from their show at Grizzly Rose In Denver, CO.

Q: Erik, Happy Holidays. Thank you for checking in with BraveWords.com. Tell us about the setlist regarding the Warrant show on December 19th at the Grizzly Rose in Denver, Colorado.

A: "We only played songs from the first 3 CDs, the ones that sold the most! (The setlist: 'Mr. Rainmaker', 'Down Boys', 'DRFSR', 'Sure Feels Good To Me', 'Sometimes She Cries', '32 Pennies', 'Hole In My Wall', 'Blind Faith', 'I Saw Red', 'So Damn Pretty', 'Machine Gun', 'Heaven', 'Uncle Tom's Cabin', 'Big Talk', 'Cherry Pie'.)

Q: Will Warrant be heading into the studio soon to record a new album in 2009?

A: "We have a live CD that we are mixing now from a show in Riverside at The Voodoo Lounge. We brought in a Pro-Tools rig and it sounds amazing so far. Look for that CD in June of 2009. We also have two new songs in the demo stage right now that sound pretty cool, lots of work to do still."

Q: Over the years, in the ever-changing music industry, how has the music of Warrant remained true to your roots?

A: "The band never really gave up when the metal genre was fading and now in 2008, old school rock has become very popular once again."

Q: What was the inspiration behind the motivation to keep on going year after year and keep writing quality music?

A: "This is what we do, Warrant is stuck on us a like bad tattoo ha ha! We love it, that is why we have stuck it out all these years. I love being in this band and it's a lot a fun most of the time!"

Q: In 2008, Warrant still has a very strong fan base. Warrant performed to huge crowds at Rocklahoma this year. What is the secret to the band's longevity and success of keeping the fans coming back for more for the past 20 years?

A: "The songs that we recorded in the 80s and early 90s have stood thetest of time, people still love to come out and hear us play our music, thank God for that, and we do!"

Q: This year Warrant has been through many changes. How is everything working out so far with the new frontman? Do you feel the band is re-energized and at they’re best so far this year regarding the musical changes?

A: "2008 didn't turn out as we planned, the reunion wasn't meant to be, the Rock Gods had other plans for us. We wish Jani all the best, no bad blood there! Robert is a great addition to the band and we are looking forward to this new chapter in the Warrant history books, it's going to kick ass!"

Q: Do you have any new DVDs in the works?"

A: "We have a brand new DVD out, They Came From Hollywood, filled with classic performances from the 80a and early 90s."
