CAMP FREDDY / BILLY IDOL guitarist Billy Morrison has checked in with the following update:

"December is a busy month in Chez Morrison. Not only am I back playing shows with Billy Idol this month, Camp Freddy are also in the midst of their annual Xmas Residency shows at The Roxy. And to top it all off, we decided we would do a New Years Eve show there as well. So my head is full of songs, my body doesn't know what time it is.....and I wouldn't have it any other way! Last night was the first Idol show in San Diego, and I have to say it felt so fucking good to play those songs again. The new ones that I co-wrote with Billy and Steve now feel right at home next to the familiar Billy Idol songs, and the band was immediately back into the groove - like we haven't taken a day off. Its been a killer 2010 for me, being in Billy's band. An honor and a pleasure to play those amazing tunes every night, and as a guitar player, I have improved in leaps and bounds. You can't help but get better when Steve Stevens is across the stage from you!! The big rock n roll tour is a fun experience and I am grateful I get to experience it.

Camp Freddy have been going over 8 years now (longer than a lot of real, career minded outfits) and I know we are all extremely proud and happy that we get to play together. So when it gets to December, we like to go into The Roxy and do what we do for a low ticket price, and let all our local friends come and join in the fun. This year has been stellar so far - so many cool songs and artists, and it's always such a great atmosphere in the dressing room (and onstage). We have just one more Residency show tomorrow (December 17th), and then the New Years Eve show to look forward to - and again, it's something that I truly love. I think being able to play a guitar as much as I do is fantastic therapy for me. It turns the voices in my head down (or maybe drowns them out!!) and when everything clicks musically, or I get a knowing smile from Dave or Matt during the show, or Chris lays down some insane bass, or Dono pulls his 'Mick Jagger Mojo' out and struts about the stage.....well, it simply makes me happy.

I have no idea what 2011 holds for me, but I sure as shit hope I get to continue doing exactly what I've been doing for the past 8 years. A huge thank you shout out to Allan Hess and Chelsea Lauren for the killer pics. Have a great weekend everyone."
