NEVERMORE bassist Jim Sheppard has revealed to BraveWords.com that the classic SANCTUARY track 'Battle Angels' is currently being sought for the upcoming Brütal Legend video game, due out on "Rocktober" 13th in North America and the 16th in the UK and Europe.

Sheppard says that star Jack Black (School Of Rock) - who plays the character of Eddie Riggs, a roadie who is accidentally transported to a fantasy world inspired by the artwork of heavy metal album covers - wanted the song and now both parties are in negotiations to have the track part of the soundtrack. The "helium fueled vocal approach" is favored by Black & TENACIOUS D!

Sanctuary was a Seattle-based mid-80s power metal band featuring Sheppard and singer Warrel Dane, who would both move on to form Nevermore in 1991. 'Battle Angels' can be found of Santuary's debut, Refuge Denied, that was produced by MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine.

Brütal Legend is packed with big names, including JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD, MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy Kilmister, OZZY OSBOURNE, LITA FORD and TIM CURRY (Rocky Horror Picture Show) who will replace RONNIE JAMES DIO as Doviculus, chief bad guy of the open world action-adventure game.
