The Weekender recently conducted an interview with Jim Florentine, the comedian who is performing three five minute comedy bits on the Jagermeister Music tour, featuring SLAYER,ANTHRAX, and MEGADETH. Read excerpts from the interview below:
“When drunk and impatient metal fans are waiting for their favorite bands to take the stage, the last thing they want to see is some dude stepping up to the microphone. Even bands don’t want to go on before Slayer, and they play music and cover up any (heckling), and somehow I chose to put myself into that,” says Jim Florentine, the comedian known for his roles on VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show and Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers. Florentine performs three five-minute comedy bits on the Jagermeister Music Tour, which hits Scranton Saturday, October 9. He does his sets before Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer’s performances.
“Sometimes you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into, but I said, ‘Ya know what, it’s a big challenge for me to do something like this, and maybe I’ll be able to pull this off,’ and so far it’s been OK,” says Florentine, who plays The Office’s Jenna Fischer’s love interest in the upcoming comedy/drama A Little Help."
