hot flashes news by devin townsend contrive

CONTRIVE has just completed recording their second soon-to-be titled album at Toyland Studios in Melbourne, again with producer Adam Calaitzis. The band can now confirm the mixing duties will be handled by none other than DEVIN TOWNSEND (DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD).

Drummer Andrew Haug comments: “Unless you live in a cave you should be aware of the great work Devin Townsend has delivered over the years, not only with his own bands but many other albums he has worked on. We’re beyond stoked to be working with him on the long awaited second Contrive record. I personally will be heading to Vancouver in the coming weeks to nut out our little masterpiece with Dev at Studio D for what will be a killer time and some awesome results! More news soon, all Hail.”

The yet to be signed band will then shop the album around for any label interest.

Contrive formed in 1999 by twin brothers Paul & Andrew Haug and bassist Tim Stahlmann, releasing two EPs and a debut album in 2005 titled The Meaning Unseen (Mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom - Studio Fredman, Sweden) The band has shared the staged with the likes of MACHINE HEAD, STONE SOUR, SEPULTURA, SOILWORK, DESTRUCTION, MAYHEM and more.
