Vocalist Corey Taylor (STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT) hosted a Reddit AMA on Thursday, April 25th. An excerpt from the fan Q&A; session is available below:

Q: How was your collaboration with STEEL PANTHER?

Corey: "It was killer - they paid me in spandex. Honestly, it was a great time. I love that fuckin band, and the guys are all amazing."

Q: During your talk at Oxford University you mentioned that there were certain tracks on (Slipknot's) Iowa that you can't listen to anymore, which ones were they and why?

Corey: "It's gotten a little easier for me to listen to that album, but for a while it was really hard. Certain songs like 'Iowa' and 'My Plague' really stick out because how fucked up I was at the time. But now I just put everything in perspective. It's a KILLER album."

Q: What is your take on the subject of music piracy? How much does it hurt your income, and does it hurt you as an artist?

Corey: "I realize the days of a hard rock/metal band selling 20 million copies are far behind us. I have two minds about this. I like the fact that music is now available to the farthest reaches of the world, where once there would have been no way to find it. But I hate the fact that people take our blood, sweat and tears and throw it all over like it's nothing, with no thought to what went into making it and how hard we fight for it."

Q: How close did you come to joining VELVET REVOLVER, and what singer do you think would go well with that band?

Corey: "I'd say close, I guess. I flew out to LA a few times- first time I just jammed with them. The second we were recording demos. I have no regrets about not getting the gig. Honestly, I don't know who could fill that spot for them."
