BraveWords.com has received the following update on Danish metallers CROCELL, which was formed in January 2007 by members and ex-members from COMPOS MENTIS, SLUGS, ADVERSARY and DEMOLITION INC.:

Crocell, winner of the "Metal Talent" category at Danish Metal Awards 2008, is currently seeking a new label and has for that purpose pre-recorded four new songs that can be found at this location.

The pre-recordings were carried out by Jacob "Formanden" Olsen in Monorama Studios and the forthcoming, as-yet untitled follow-up to last year's The God We Drowned will be recorded during August / September this year.

The songs, entitled 'In The Age Of Iron And Rust', 'Thieves, Whores And Heretics', 'The Stranger', and 'After The Take Of Winter', all display a massive sound of death metal with diversity and raw energy as well as a somewhat gloomy atmosphere. The band will focus on creating a record that contains elements from a wide array of extreme music so listeners can expect a journey into brutal music with no compromises.

The video was shot in Filmbyen in Aarhus by Anton Iversen (guitar player in AVARICE) with assistance by Poul Iversen.

In other news, Crocell has been chosen as one of the representatives of Danish metal at this year's SPOT Festival, taking place in Aarhus, Denmark from May 21st - 23rd. Also on the bill are EXMORTEM.

Casket Music (a division of Copro Records) released Crocell's 11-track debut album, The God We Drowned, on November 24th, 2008.

The album was recorded by Christian Bonde at his CB-Studios and mixed by Jacob "Formanden" Olsen in the Antfarm Studio. The album cover (pictured) is a sinister painting made by the young and promising Danish artist, Anders Davidsen.
