Oakland-based thrashers DEFIANCE have issued the following update:

"We wanted to let you all know that there has been a minor glitch in the system with regards to the release of our new album, The Prophecy. Due to an unforeseen logistical issue, the US release of the album was pushed back by the distributor until November 3rd.

The album is available in Europe, and in the US via the Candlelight USA online store. This set back only affects the distribution of the CD to online stores such as Amazon and iTunes, and to brick and mortars like Best Buy.

We apologize for any confusion this issue has caused. We are looking forward to getting out there to play live for you all soon!"

Defiance recently posted another song from The Prophecy. Check out 'Eschaton' at their official MySpace page.

According to a band update, "The song is a guitar piece written and performed by the duo of Jim Adams and Glen Alvelais (FORBIDDEN, TESTAMENT, LD/50). This song is a mellow instrumental piece that showcases Jim Adams performing a clean, relaxed acoustic style arrangement while Glen Alvelais sores over the top of it. The piece sets the stage for what is to follow it on the album, 'Sloth'. 'Sloth' is a driving intricate all out thrasher!"

The Prophecy tracklisting:

'Bastard Son'
