Copenhagen, Denmark-based death metal rockers BILLY BOY IN POISON have released their new video, for the track ‘Decadent God’, featured on their debut album, Watchers, available via Mighty Music.
Filmed in Portugal and directed by Sara Samsøe, the video forgoes the classic live shots for all story and mood.
“Our last music video was filmed at a festival show, this time we wanted something wholly different than just dudes playing”, the band explains and continues: “The plot is based off the song’s lyrical theme about how religion is used for indoctrination and control, and spiritual doubt is at the center, but we also wanted it to be somewhat open to interpretation.”Watchers is produced, mixed and mastered by the renowned Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, ABORTED, MERCENARY, etc.), which resulted in a tight and powerful soundscape. Variety and coherency is key on the album, with the band leaning on contemporary death metal, but infusing it with crunch and catchiness from metalcore. Punishing heavy riffs and blast beats are accompanied by both atmospheric parts and an occasional progressive twist.
