DENIM AND LEATHER - James Rivera Talks About Bringing Tribute To Philly This Weekend

As previously reported, James Rivera (HELSTAR/MALICE) vocalist brings his traditional metal tribute act, DENIM AND LEATHER to Philadelphia this Saturday evening, March 2nd at the Voltage Lounge (next to The Electric Factory). Sort of sad that a veteran of three decades fronting original metal bands (ex-SEVEN WITCHES/ex-FLOTSAM & JETSAM, as well as the aforementioned acts) would generate such great interest by playing other people's music, but the affable "Mexican Dio" takes it all in stride.
"We are mostly doing covers from all the metal greats. (We play for) about an hour and twenty, or so, but the surprise song or songs will be from my original acts or at least an original act I have sang for."That doesn't mean he's opposed to talking about all his years in metal, as well as signing autographs or posing for pictures. "Absolutely. I always enjoy doing meet and greets after the shows to sign and take photos with my fans!" Other bands on the bill at the Voltage Lounge include local originals, SEASON OF MOURNING, female-fronted prog/power metallers MINDMAZE (who just released their debut) and the School Of Rock house band.
