Classic metal tribute act DENIM AND LEATHER, featuring vocalist James Rivera (HELSTAR, SEVEN WITCHES) and guitarist Mark Simpson (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), have issued the following updates:
"It is with not only regret but with a renewed commitment that Denim And Leather have parted ways with drummer Rob Daley. We wish him great success in his future musical and personal endeavors."Another update reads:
"Denim and Leather is extremely fortunate to announce the addition of Matt Muntean of Las Vegas' own DINNER MUSIC FOR THE GODS as our new drummer. Matt is a very skilled and exciting drummer and we are looking forward to doing great things with him on board. Be on the lookout for upcoming shows not only in the NV/CA areas but TX and AZ as well.About Matt:
Las Vegas native Matt Muntean got his start playing drums over 25 years ago after seeing a band perform at a family hootenanny. Although only 5 years of age when seeing his first live drumming performance, the young rocker’s tiny foundations were shaken by the experience. Muntean knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life – bash the skins in a rock band! For the next 10 years he survived on a strict diet of metal and rock. Some of Muntean’s early influences were Mikkey Dee, Neil Peart, and Terry Bozzio. After discovering jazz and fusion in college, Muntean also found inspiration from the playing of Steve Gadd and Trilok Gurtu.
Muntean’s first paying gig while still in high school was in LV punk band BLATANT DISREGARD, opening up for the LEMONHEADS. In the late 90’s Muntean co-founded the band Dinner Music For The Gods, whose sound is a blend of jazz, metal, and world music.
Muntean’s newest musical endeavor is with Las Vegas based Denim And Leather – a tribute to classic metal. With Matt Muntean’s classic metal roots, Denim And Leather is a perfect fit – like red leather pants with a 12-inch saw blade sticking out of the codpiece."
