Europe welcomes a new bestseller on the composite European Top 100 Albums chart, as New York rock outfit DREAM THEATER's Black Clouds And Silver Linings (Roadrunner) opens its account at #1. BLACK EYED PEAS' 'Boom Boom Pow' (Interscope/Universal) scores a third non-consecutive week atop European Hot 100 Singles.
"Black Clouds" jumps 14-1 in Finland and debuts at #3 in Germany and Holland, #4 in Hungary, #5 in Italy, #9 in France and #23 in the United Kingdom, the band's best ranking there to date. Dream Theater is on a steady upward curve on the composite European chart, having opened at #7 with its first Roadrunner album, Systematic Chaos, in 2007 and #16 with Octavarium, on Atlantic in 2005.

As previously reported, Dream Theater is currently breaking records in Europe, playing to festival crowds of over 80,000 adoring fans. The band made their debut appearance in Israel last month, rocking a crowd 10,000 strong to their knees. The band’s own Progressive Nation tour returns stateside on July 24 in Miami, and will feature Dream Theater as headliner, ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA, BIGELF and SCALE THE SUMMIT. The tour - which marks the second incarnation of Progressive Nation - wraps on August 29th in Los Angeles.
