Ex-DARKEST HOUR guitarist Kris Norris and vocalist Dan Malloy have officially launched. THE GODLESS SYMPHONY. Norris has checked in with the following update:
"I am extremely excited to work with Dan, he is by far the most amazing vocalist I have ever heard. The MySpace band page has just been started, and it may be a bit premature since there are no fancy logos or graphics up or anything just the music, but I want everyone to check it out. I think its kind of cool that way. No label, no fancy graphic frills, just the music for people to judge and not who has the prettiest MySpace layout. The music is very different from what people know me for in Darkest Hour. I went back a bit to my roots on this one. Wierd Avantgarde Norwegian (WINDS, ARCTURUS) styled slower metal. The name of the band is The Godless Symphony and to make a long story short: I was in a band called DISINTERMENT back when I was 16 or so with Ryan from Darkest Hour. This was the first real band for each of us and it lasted seven years so it has a huge impact on me mentally and emotionally in music. One of my favorite songs I wrote back then was called The Godless Symphony, so I thought it a fitting title for the band since right now I'm writing alot of what Disinterment sounded like, and to top it off the live guitar player is a friend Tommy Gun who happens to have been one of the guitar players in Disinterment, so it's kind of like a full circle. I'm just really happy with the way these demos are turning out and I can only hope that people enjoy listening to them as much as Dan and I are having in writing them. More to come later, this is all just a new and fresh idea!"
