Famed Aussie Song-Writing Team Vanda & Young Launch Competition For Music Therapy Charity

ABC Radio National is reporting:
If you know your Australian music, then you'll know the names Vanda & Young, the acclaimed song-writing team behind hits like 'Friday On My Mind' by THE EASYBEATS. They also produced many Australian bands including AC/DC, ROSE TATTOO and THE ANGELS.
They're now the inspiration for a new song-writing competition with $20,000 in prize money. The competition is helping raise money for a music therapy charity called Nordoff-Robbins.

Vanda & Young are Harry Vanda (born Johannes Hendricus Jacob Vandenberg) and George Young (born George Redburn Young. They performed as members of 1960s Australian rock group The Easybeats where Vanda was their lead guitarist and backing singer and Young was their rhythm guitarist and backing singer. Young is an older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young of the hard rock legends AC/DC.
