Former FREHLEY'S COMET vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Tod Howarth released his new album, Opposite Gods, via his official website on April 4th. It is now available via CDBaby.com here and will be made available via Amazon, CDuniverse and iTunes in the next couple of weeks. Audio samples are available on the CDBaby page.

Following is the press release for Opposite Gods:

Legendary guitarist Tod Howarth has completed work on his much anticipated release Opposite Gods after three years of dedication to the project.

A highly respected veteran who has played with FREHLEY’S COMET, TED NUGENT, CHEAP TRICK, 707, and others, Tod has been making music for over twenty-five years with some of rocks best and brightest stars. When asked why he continues to branch out on his own rather than accept the many offers that come his way, he responds “I hear songs in my head all the time, and this was another way to rid them of my cranial prison as it were...and I have to complete my projects Hell or high water, money or not, fame or not.”

Best described as a “thinking mans’ album, Opposite Gods is the type of CD that is best enjoyed with a nice cocktail and some unmolested time that can be dedicated to digesting and analyzing the sometimes intense lyrical content that is all too often missing in today’s overly commercialized rock and roll.

Tod Howarth has found the recipe that has been lost in rock and roll for far too many years. Like a true artist, Tod recognizes that while hard driving guitars on some tracks, and melodically soft and sensuous acoustic riffs paint part of the picture, the lyrical content truly completes the story, and all too often is where the story actually begins. “I believe that my fans will find the disk to be an accurate reflection of where my life is now, and where it has been for the last few years. It’s an honest portrayal, and after all, isn’t that where the best art really comes from…a place of honesty?”

Having played all of the instruments and performed all of the vocals with the exceptions of the backrounds on Tell Me which were done by his youngest daughter Tara, Tod’s immediate plans are to assemble a band and play some limited shows in Southern California to support the CD, as well as to release a video in the near future.
