Former SLAYER/TESTAMENT drummer Jon Dette has issued the following update on his PUSHED project:

Greetings everyone from the Pushed camp. Well, we FINALLY finished recording 3 new songs and they're now online to check out. We also uploaded photos from in the studio during the recording and mixing and you can check that out in the photos area. The tracks recorded are: 'The Great Impossible' (aka '300'), 'Red Star Rising' and 'Razorblades And Spiderwebs'.

We started the recording process for this demo back in March 2007 and mixing finally wrapped up in early December. We recorded and mixed the demo at Grove Addicts in Santa Monica, CA. Absolutely beautiful studio! Owner Dain Blaire was more than accomodating for us and we extend our appreciation to him.

Chief engineer (and dear friend) Gerhard Joost (Stewart Copeland, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder) did an amazing job engineering as well as producing. He really went above and beyond for this project and we are truly grateful my friend!

Joe did an awesome job as always throwing down the guitars and his creativity really shined with his last minute song idea that turned into 300. We all had two weeks (including Travis who had to write lyrics) to learn the meat and potatos of the song and add onto it. But it was worth it because the end result is a kick ass song! Way to go Joe!

Travis's singing was ON! Damm that boy can sing! He and Gerhard really clicked on a production level and it shows on these tracks. In particular the harmonys they came up with were outstanding! And Travis can be quite the jokster as well making long hours in the studio seem like minutes. "GAZUNTITE GERHARD!!" Lol!! Dude, my gut still hurts from laughing at that one Travis!

JP did a great job as well throwing down his guitar parts. He (and Joe via phone from the east coast) were also great at helping Johnny Chow with his bass parts. We love Johnny Chow and can't thank him enough for coming in to record the demo with us. He had less than a week to learn these songs, but he came in prepared and knocked it out in a day. Thanks again JC!

As for me, I threw down the drums in a day. No beat detective or pro-tools used on any of the drum tracks so you might hear some hick-ups here and there. Gerhard tried his best to get me to cross over to the dark side. lol. But at the end of the day, I think the natural feel of my raw drum tracks sound so much better without all that synthetic crap on them.

After schedule and geographical conflicts, fights, blood, sweat and tears, we finally got this thing done. Where we go from hear is still to be determined but we will let you know of any changes or future happenings as future opportunities come up.

On behalf of Travis, Joe, JP and myself, THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us and for being so patient waiting for us to get this demo done. This is for you and we hope it was worth the wait. Enjoy!

Jon Dette."
