Britain’s The Register (www.theregister.co.uk) has issued the following report from Lester Haines:

FREDDIE MERCURY's 1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow is being offered for sale on eBay - complete with a man-sized box of tissues which the QUEEN singer's sister couldn't bear to remove after his death in 1991.

As well as the Kleenex, the successful bidder will get an (presumably obsolete) car phone, radio cassette player and new alarm system. The Roller has done just 5,000 miles since Freddie popped his clogs, making its last public appearance at the London Premiere of We Will Rock You.

If you fancy securing this piece of rock memorabilia, you'll have to dig fairly deep. Forty bidders have so far pushed the price to almost £14k, although the reserve has not yet been met with five days left to run on the auction.

Prospective buyers can't view the car before making a pitch, but full documentation proving the car's provenance and service history are promised.

A photo of the car can be seen here.
