Calgary's blackened death metal quartet GALES OF AVALON performed a cover of WOODS OF YPRES' 'Your Ontario Town (Is A Burial Ground)' at the David Gold tribute show held in Calgary on February 24th. Multi-cam footage of the performance is available below:

As previously reported, Rob Cranny from Northern Storm Records and Mark Howitt from Archaic North Entertainment have announced a tribute album in memory of WOODS OF YPRES frontman David Gold who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident on December 21st, 2011, outside Barrie, Ontario.

Dave Gold's sister Marie, recently announced two tribute shows in memory of David and to celebrate the release of the new album, Woods V: Grey Skies & Electric Light. The album release concert will be Thursday, April 5th in Toronto, Ontario, and the Ypres Music Festival/David's memorial concert will be held Saturday, April 7th in his hometown of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

The Toronto show will be held at The Wreckroom. Details are as follows:

"A celebration of David's life and a tribute memorial concert will take place for friends, family, and fans to come together as well to participate in a listening of Woods 5 in its entirety over a venue sound system.

Scheduled is a headline performance by Chicago's NOVEMBERS DOOM, as well as tribute performances by ECLIPSE ETERNAL, EMPYREAN PLAGUE, GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH, HALLOWS DIE, KITTIE, PAGAN RITUAL, PANZERFAUST plus more artists tba. As well as a possible surprise performance that may happen

Admission is solely by donation, and proceeds will be given to the Gold family to help cover the expenses of David's final arrangements, and to support the annual David Gold Music Scholarship made available to Sault College students.
