GIANT SQUID singer/guitarist Aaron Gregory has issued the following update on the band's upcoming tour this spring:

"Confirmed dates on the upcoming March tour are shaping up nicely, with some exciting bills with bands we love and admire. If all goes as planned, the first date of the tour we'll have us playing our first Sacramento all ages show since October of 2005. Very, very exciting details about that gig coming as things confirm. I don't want to jump the gun, but it will be a gig not to miss. The next night will have us at Sacramento's finest and newly revamped and expanded live music club, The Blue Lamp, for our first club show back in town since coming through on tour in July with Stolen Babies - a sold out show that had a hometown welcome with people swarming the outside of the club. This time around we're bringing Ludicra, Black Elk, and Grayceon for what will be a guaranteed good time.

Speaking of Stolen Babies, not only will The End Records SXSW showcase on March 17th have us sharing the stage with our comrades in clown makeup, but we'll also get to meet and hopefully drink dangerous amounts of Texan beer with label new comer's Tub Ring coming in from Chicago. They should be warned that we are highly skilled in consuming massive quantities of Lone Star and Shiner Bock in the muggiest of Texan evenings.

While in Austin, we'll get to share the stage again with our favorite grease paint covered guys and gal, Stolen Babies, during a day show on March 16th, where anyone can come out with out the need of a the highly coveted SXSW festival pass, giving all our Austin fans and friends the chance to come and party with us. Before us will play Jackie Gratz's gorgeous metal band, Grayceon, who will be joining us on the rest of the tour from there on out, and closing the night will be the hosts of the show, our dear friends and some of Austin's finest, The Invincible Czars. We can't wait to share the stage with these scholarly gentlemen again.

We have some calls in with some real heavy music heavy weights to possibly join us in their respective home towns. Still awaiting to iron out pesky details, but one thing for sure is that we will be finally joining up with Columbus, Ohio's most Jurassic like, down tuned export, Mouth of the Architect. We were supposed to play with these monsters when they come through Austin last October, but due to unforeseen circumstances (and then some), we had to sit that one out on the sidelines. Luckily the view from there was incredible as we watched the Architects dismantle Austin's legendary all ages venue, Emo's. Mouth is absolutely devastating live, and we all greatly look forward to this show, and comparing our beard sizes to theirs."
