Currently on tour with ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, former GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke has not one but two solo DVDs up his sleeve. The first was filmed in Los Angeles, California at The Malibu Inn, while the second was taped in London, England at The Underworld.

“I have them both,” Gilby tells BW&BK;’s Aaron Small. “I printed up copies of the L.A. show but I wasn’t real happy with it. The band played well, but the technical side of it I didn’t think was that good. My idea for these DVDs is to show the strength of my band. We’re a really good bar band. It’s very punk rock. We work with our audience. We play to them and they play back to us and it didn’t capture that. It just looked like three guys on a stage playing. So then we taped the London show. It was a great show. It was sold out. Once again, the technical side was just ok. In every shot, you can see the cameraman on the other side of the stage. It’s just annoying to me that I put all this work into it and then the technical people don’t keep their end. They are going to be available at some point. I’m just trying to decide how to do it. I was even thinking about putting up tracks on YouTube so people can have them. I’m not going to sell them. When I do my records, I produce them myself and I work with a good group of people. This video stuff is new to me. I really haven’t found the groove yet.”

As far as a Rock Star Supernova DVD goes, “we have talked about that. Some of the outtakes are probably some of the best stuff from the television show. Because of editing and PG ratings, a lot of stuff got left on the floor. It would be great to get some of these things out there with some different versions of these songs and some live things.” Currently nothing has been finalized though.
