Kingston, Ontario's HEADSTONES, who were one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands of the '90s and called it quits in 2003, did a handful of reunion shows back in February. They recently announced that they are recording a new album and have issued the following update:
"Okay, we are recording some more songs and looking at playing some gigs in the December / January. Whaddaya wanna hear? What song, what album? In other words, we need to figure out a setlist, folks."Go to the band's official Facebook page to place your requests.
The band recently released a new single entitled 'Binthiswayforyears', which is available for free download here, along with the following note:
"The above was written only hours after our last show at the sound academy. Make no mistake, you’ve kickstarted the machine. The next record is a direct result of that wave of interaction. You made us remember what the fuck it is we do."Headstones released five albums during their career: Picture Of Health, Teeth And Tissue, Smile And Wave, Nickels For Your Nightmares, and The Oracle Of Hi-Fi.
In the years following the band's breakup, Headstones vocalist Hugh Dillon embarked on a successful acting career, starring in the television series Durham County and Flashpoint. Dillon also appeared in Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and does voice-overs for Canadian Chevrolet ads as well as commercials for Manulife One financial services.
