HELLOWEEN, KAI HANSEN Guest On Wikimetal

This week Wikimetal features an interview with the founding members of HELLOWEEN, Michael Weikath and Markus Grosskopf, who talk about the invention of the band's original sound, later referred to as power metal.
Bassist Markus Grosskopf explains that the band went after a new sound, that would combine the extreme and the melodic, in order to differentiate themselves from other bands at the time, "We were trying to stick out of the mess."
Guitarist Michael Weikath also said, "We were trying to create something to get a freaking record contract." For both musicians, a German band at the time had to have something different to stand out.
During the interview, Weikath and Grosskopf are joined by former Helloween and GAMMA RAY founding member Kai Hansen, who talks about their tour and relationship with Brazil.
