FRAMESHIFT/SHADOW'S MIGNON mastermind Henning Pauly checks in with the following update:

"Hi folks,

Sadly, in the process of moving my website to a new server, I have lost the news from the last 10 months, but I am sure most of you are aware of what I've been doing. Obviously, the msot recent development is the release of Midnight Sky Masquerade from Shadow's Mignon, a ficticious band project I created featuring, once again, Juan Roos on vocals.

This album beams you back into the 80s and fuses all the different metal styles of that time into one amazing CD. There's some Maiden, some Dio, Purple and all the other good stuff... for fans of classic metal this CD is a must have.

But even with the upcoming release of this album I am busy again, back in the studio with vocalist Alex Froese, working on a new album (more on that later), before I finally turn back to Frameshift 3. I am slowly getting the feeling that I am getting ready and good enough to tackle this rather big challange.

Shadow's Mignon's first release can be ordered immediately from ProgRock Records and will soon be available at you local store.

Henning Pauly recently spoke with BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai about Shadow's Mignon, meant as a good-natured send-up of metal and all its clichés. An excerpt from the interview is available below.

“It’s complete fun to do this kind of music,” laughs Pauly. “To do this kind of music for 20 or 30 years, releasing an album every year or two, and taking it so seriously like Manowar does, that’s ridiculous. That’s what I have a problem with, because they’ve been doing this forever and each time they release something they act like they’ve re-invented the wheel. I recently saw a video blog where they’re in a studio in Germany somewhere, and they’re going on as if they just came up with the newest, hardest shit anyone has ever heard and lyrics that will be the next evolution of lyric writing. Why can’t they just say ‘Okay, emotionally we’re having fun, this stuff’s about magic and ghosts and wizards and shit like that, but it’s metal and it’s fun…’? If you look at their promo pictures, they always have to look evil, they always have to look bad, and they’re dead serious. I find that ridiculous.”
