Greek metallers HOMO IRATUS have issued the following update:

"The name and what it stands for.

Yeah suckers... we said HOMO.

Over the years we've heard and read so much about this band's name that only if we cared about the horde of illiterates who rushed to spew bad karma we would have bothered to change it... but no... the only change we would ever wish is for people would be to stop being so damn stupid.

Honestly.

We've managed to release 2 albums through US labels under it anyway.

The name is a part of what this band is all about and what it wants to achieve.

We like our lyrics to stirr the mind and put it into thinking... just like using this kind of a name... why would anybody... especially a death metal oriented band use the word "homo" in its name?

Well I guess because "Homo" basically and Initially means " Human Being" in Latin and it doesn't stop to feel funny that a bunch of Greeks are aware of that in contrast to host of people that speak languages that are descendants of Latin.

Homo Iratus is the composite we have created for naming our band and reflects both the music and the lyrics: angry/irrate human being.

Now for the cheesy stuff.

?he misconception, the word homosexual and in tandem the term "homo".... in terms of homosexuality... is a whole different deal and derrives (as many other words in the English language) from the Greek composite word "????????????" which is composed from the words "??????" ( similar ) and "????" ( sex ).

The Greek word "??????" is pronounced... guess... something like "homios" or "ohmios" and was kind of borrowed, per say, to form the term in English.

There's not much more analysis to be made around the subject. That's about it.
