Spain's Hall Of Metal has issued an interview with guitarist Valle Daniel of Swedish death thrashers IMPIOUS. The following is an excerpt:

Q: There’s a clear style through your album (Death Domination), i.e. a never-letting-down death/thrash, although there are some slower songs like 'Rostov Reaper' and 'Dead Awakening'. Do you feel comfortable with labels? What are your main influences? How did you achieve such heaviness and quality?

A: "Well, I'm not too happy about different labels. In my world, if you like something, listen to it. If not, don't listen to it. To me it doesn't matter what label or style the music has. I try not to be influenced when I write music. Of course somewhere deep inside bands like METALLICA, SLAYER, TESTAMENT, and so on, have shaped my songwriting. But when I sit down with a guitar to write music, I never ever think 'ok, so let's make a riff that sounds like this or that band'. The heaviness and quality comes from the chemistry in the band."

Impious are streaming the new song, 'And The Empire Shall Fall', on their official MySpace page.

Says the band: "The song is almost six minutes long and it features a lot of different instruments and elements. It's about armageddon, the end of days, and how hell will be brought upon earth when man fights in vain to survive."

'And The Empire Shall Fall' is pulled from the band's new album, Death Domination, out now via Metal Blade Records in Europe and North America.

Death Domination, will be released in Asia on December 23rd. The Asian release of the album will include the bonus track 'The Reaper's End'.
